- Field day is a privilege. Feel free to sit a kid out for a center or two if they are not demonstrating good sportsmanship.
- Remind students to bring water bottles and dress appropriately for running around in the heat for 2+ hours.
- If a student shows up without sneakers, use your best judgment and sit them out during an activity that might not be safe. Example: no rope climbing in flip flops.
- Students who bought field day shirts should wear them. If they didn’t, encourage them to wear the same color.
- Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses are all great additions.
- There is a water station by the exterior door off of the 2nd grade hallway.
- The PTA will deliver popsicles around 3:00.
Emergency Drill Dates
We will be conducting the following emergency drills. Please review procedures with your students.
Thursday, May 25th @ 10am - Parent Unification Drill (we will ask members of the OSET team to meet before the start of the drill. We will only be "unifying" about a dozen students. This won't be a school-wide event, but rather a practice for the OSET team)
Thursday, May 25th @ 10:45am - Directed Evacuation and Reverse Evacuation (Please see the directions below. We evacuate to the front field. Portables do NOT go through the building, but rather around the building. Listen to the directions on the announcements for the evacuation.)
Summer CARES tutoring
Staff members may use the form linked below to refer students to tutoring. However before submitting a referral, please read each bullet point and make sure parents know how summer CARES differs from the current tutoring.
There will now be July tutoring at 15 centralized sites, and 3 virtual sites.
Schools will use this (ES&MS form) student referral form to submit student referrals for July tutoring.
Parents must be able to transport their child to the selected site Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays, during one of the two session (each day has two-45 minute sessions)
Students referred for tutoring may not also be attending elementary or middle summer school programs
