Message From the Principal
We are so excited to start our second semester. We hope everyone had a great winter break. We have many events and fun, learning experiences planned for this semester.
Tuesday we have our next PTO meeting at 5pm in the library. We hope to see you there. We will be working on plans for fundraisers and supporting our next events.
On Friday, we will have our LIFT Time from quarter two. If your student is receiving an award, their teacher will reach out to you. This will take place in the gym.
We are also very excited to announce that we will be having a winter carnival on Friday, February 10th from 5:30-7:30pm. More information will be coming shortly. We hope to see your family there.
This month is School Board Appreciation Month. We want to thank our school board for all of their hard work to make sure great learning takes place in Decatur. Monday is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. We want to thank our officers for all they do to keep us safe daily.
Finally, your student's iPad should be coming home every night. In the event of inclement weather we may have an eLearning day. Your teacher will have all needed coursework and information on their class Canvas page.

Jay Lovell

Culture Guide
E= Events: We cannot control things that happen
R= Response: We can control our response to the event
O=Outcome: Having a proper response will get the desired outcome.
This concept is powerful for all of us. Daily, many things happen that are out of our control. We can lash out or we can pause, think, and then respond. Pausing for reflection allows us to get the outcome that we need and want.
