Worried about teaching?
Join the Graduate Teachers Learning Community
What's the Graduate Teachers Learning Community?
We're an interdisciplinary group of University of Miami graduate student teachers looking to develop as instructors. We will meet every couple of weeks to support and advise each other on "real-world" classroom issues. Whether you've felt lost in a previous teaching assignment or maybe are just anxious about an upcoming one, the GTLC offers hands-on solutions to group-generated issues. Working in conjunction with UM professors, Teaching and Learning graduate students, and professionals from Education and Outreach and the Graduate School, we hope to provide instruction on the "nuts-and-bolts" concepts of teaching that can prove so elusive to the developing professional.
That sounds great! How do I sign up?
If you like what you're hearing and you're ready to sign up, you can find the GTLC application by clicking here or by going to the link at the bottom of the page. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us. Applications are due by February 10, 2014. If you'd like to find a clickable version of this flyer online or a link to the online application, it's at https://smore.com/c0fj.
Alright, I sent in my application. Now what do I do?
Just leave everything to us. In a few weeks, we'll reach out to everyone who has applied and figure out a meeting schedule. We should begin meeting in February.
