A Message from the Principal
Dear Eccles Families,
Today’s Jog-a-thon was so much fun! What a wonderful and generous community!
We are excited to announce two more joyful community events, both occurring on May 17.
First, we invite Grandparents or a Special Person to join Eccles students for lunch, recess and a classroom activity. Grandparents, or a Special person, can take their student to the book fair instead of recess. Nutrition services is prepared to serve our Grandparents and Special people lunch. This is a beloved Eccles tradition that I’m excited to experience this year. Next week we will send out the link for ordering lunch with the schedule of visiting times.
Later on May 17, from 5:00-6:30, we will host a Family Literacy Event, “Camp Reads-a-lot at Eccles Elementary. Teachers and staff will host families for fun, games, food, and a showcase of student literacy for this camping themed event. We hope to see you and your kids at this event. Our students are working hard to produce writing based on reading or research to share with you.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Kelly

Join C.A.S.T. for Kids for a FREE fishing event for children with special needs!
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation enriches the lives of children with special needs, supports their families, and strengthens the communities through the sport of fishing. This year, they are hosting a new event to be held Saturday, May 20th at Kyllo Reservoir, a pond on private property just south of Canby. Fishing equipment is included and families are welcome.

Important Health Reminders
The following two items need to come to school with students each day:
- Water bottles - For health and sanitary reasons, the mouth spout of our drinking fountains have been turned off, but the water bottle filler is still on.
- Jackets
If your student is in need of assistance getting one of these items, we can help. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the office staff at (503) 263-7120 or eccles-office@canby.k12.or.us.
Please remember to review our district and school health stay home guidelines. If you have any questions about whether a student should stay home, please don't hesitate to contact the office and we can put you in touch with our Health Assistant or District Nurse. We appreciate your help in keeping not only your student, but all other students, staff and families healthy this school year.
Meals at School
Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced-price meals, and we now offer expanded income guidelines to qualify more families. If you plan to have your child eat school-provided breakfast or lunch, please fill out a Meal Application online at https://www.ode.state.or.us/apps/frlapp - Our district ensures that our nutrition programs are easily accessible to all families.
