McGovern News!
June 22, 2022
We did it! We have officially closed the 2021-2022 school year. Though this year had many ups and downs, we truly enjoyed working with your children each and every day. There was much to celebrate this year and I know each student developed academically, socially, emotionally and found ways to connect to our school community.
I hope you all enjoy every moment of summer. Before you know it, it will be August! Until then, take time to spend with your child/children, laugh, rest and rejuvenate.
Have a great summer!

Summer Reading
The research is clear that children who don't read during the summer can lose up to three months of reading progress and that loss has a cumulative, long-term effect. If you only have time to do 1 thing, read.

Inside your child’s report card envelope, you will find a summer learning Bingo Board. The activities on the board are designed to review key concepts from the grade your child has just completed. You could use the board a few times a week over the summer. Keep it on your fridge & use any activity when you can. After you complete the activity, cross it off. If you get 5 in a row, you get bingo! Bonus if you complete the whole board. Extra copies of the boards will be available at the Medway Public Library.
3. Accessing Apps over the summer

Field Day!
Southwick Zoo field trip
The original cost of the trip would have been $23.00 per student. Fortunately, we were able to pay for the transportation to and from the zoo and families only had to pay the admission fee ($15.00). Thank you to all of our families who purchased school pictures this year. It allows us to support various projects and programs throughout the school year.
