Our Fall Fest is Friday!

Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur
The two most important holidays in the Jewish religion are Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. The New Year means celebrations, prayer and time with family and friends. On Rosh Hashanah people eat apples dipped in honey to symbolize a sweet new year. Rosh Hashanah this was September 30th and October 1st last week. On Rosh Hashanah Jews are asked to think about their behavior over the past year and ways to improve themselves.
10 Days after Rosh Hashanah is Yom Kippur. Jewish people around the world will celebrate Yom Kippur This Wednesday, October 9th. From the beginning to the end of the holiday jewish people are supposed to think about asking for forgiveness from those we hurt over the past year and ways to be a better and more kind person. Adults are not supposed to eat all day but instead focus on prayer, forgiveness and improving their behavior. When the sun sets, Jewish families and friends gather together for a big meal.
Thanks to our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee for this contribution.
FFN Family Art Night
On your mark! Get set! GO!
The 8th Bushy Bear Dash will take place on Friday, October 25th!
Amount raised as of 10/6: $3,640
Goal: $15,000
This is the main fundraiser for the school each year, with 100% of the money collected going toward funding PTA activities and events. The money raised is relied upon to benefit the school through cultural arts programs, classroom enrichment activities, teacher and staff appreciation, school assemblies, family fun nights, and so much more!
Students will be walking or running a designated course during their related arts class period. There will be games and a DJ, making this an enjoyable and memorable event for all. Thanks to Mrs. Lease for planning this important and fun event!
Look for donation forms coming home with your students! Please consider supporting the Bushy Park PTA, your students and your school! New this year, donations are also being accepted through PayPal! Visit https://www.bushyparkpta.org/bushy-bear-dash to donate today!
Summer & Opening Events Survey
As leaders in our school community, we value engaging with parents and community members to solicit feedback in a variety of ways. As we reflect on our summer activities and opening events while they are still fresh in our minds, we would appreciate your thoughts on the timing, structure, and communication of these events.
This survey will be open through Friday, October 11th. The information we gather through this survey will be used to inform our planning for next year's opening. While the survey is anonymous, please keep in mind that the results will be shared with the BPES staff, BPES PTA leadership team, and other community members.
If you are interested in being a part of analyzing and synthesizing the feedback we collect and in helping develop our plan for opening events next year, we invite you to join us in person on Monday, October 14th from 8:15-9:00am in the BPES Media Center. If you would like to attend, please email Mrs. Bialeski directly at julia_bialeski@hcpss.org by Friday, October 11th.
We thank you in advance for your feedback and look forward to collaborating to ensure that our summer and opening events best meet your needs in the future.
