Congratulations TMEA All-State Students
Congratulations to the following students for qualifying for 6A TMEA All-State:
- Mason Beltran (Percussion)
- Nick Boyd (Bass Clarinet)
- Jorge Canas (Clarinet)
- Pranav Devulapalli (Percussion)
- Joseph Park (Flute)
Earning a 6A All-State chair is the highest individual honor a musician can earn in Texas. These students qualified for Area and auditioned with the best students of our surrounding Regions to qualify for All-State.
Congratulations to all of our Area students: Mason Beltran, Nick Boyd, Ashley Bullinger, Jorge Canas, Raphael Chen, Christopher Connolly, Pranav Devulapalli, Ethan Erwin, Ishaan Gupta, Joseph Park, Nicholas Park, Aamir Patwa, Advik Racichandran, and Lilly Reeves. Students qualify for Area by earning top chairs at Region auditions.
Mid-Year Updates
Dr. Obado will be speaking to all classes at AHS & LFC this week for a mid-year update. If students have questions for Dr. Obado, this would be a great time to ask! Topics for discussion:

Region 25 Clinic/Concert is THIS WEEK!
Students that earned a Region chair have their Clinic/Concert this Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12 at the Plano ISD Robinson Fine Arts Center. You should have picked up your music from your director with all of the pertinent information. All Region students will be excused from classes on Friday. Dr.Obado will communicate lunch and transportation details to Region students on Monday, 1/8. If you are a Region student and still need music, please contact Dr. Obado.
UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest
The UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest will be held on Saturday, February 17 at Plano East Senior High School. Students wishing to participate in the contest should fill out this GOOGLE FORM and pay the entry fee ($15/solo or $15/member of an ensemble) to the safe outside Mrs. Fulk's office before the Friday, January 12 entry deadline. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. It is highly recommended that you contact an accompanist immediately if you plan to enter an accompanied solo at the contest. A list of piano accompanists for the contest may be found HERE. You must be logged into your Allen ISD account to access the accompanist list and Google form.
Branson Payment Final Payment Due
The final payment for our Spring Trip to Branson is due on Friday, January 12. Based on the CONTRACT, we may remove you from the trip if payments are not made within 7 days. Please bring in your payment on Friday!
ACG Winterguard Season
Did you know the Allen Colorguard (ACG) is already hard at work preparing for their competitive Winterguard season? Their season begins with their Friends & Family Show at Flower Mound HS on January 20th. Please mark your calendars and support ACG!

Event Committee
We are looking for volunteers to serve on our event committee to help with spring events such as banquet and other events. Email Tracy at publicrelations@allenband.com if you are interested.
2024 Leadership & Marching Band Events
The band staff is already preparing for the 2024 marching season. Required spring movement and music camps are not scheduled as of today. The movement and music camps will be scheduled after Spring Break - be on the lookout at a January TWIB Notes for the specific camp dates & times.
If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops after Spring Break. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class.
