MMS WEEKLY UPDATE

It has been a few years since we have had our traditional 8th grade promotion. We welcome parents and families to join us on Tuesday, June 14th at 10:00 am in the west gym. Refreshments and desserts will be provided by our 8th grade families in foyer after the promotion ceremony. Students will be released to their families after the event. We are excited for our 8th grade students to take the next step in their educational journey. Click here for the itinerary.

On Thursday, June 9th we will be hosting our senior class of 2022 as they walk the halls and celebrate their hard work in the Meridian School District. This has been a tradition here at the middle school for many years and we are so proud to have the opportunity to celebrate them! School transportation is provided and seniors will return to the high school after visiting both MMS and IRE.

Also, on June 9th our incoming 6th graders will be here from IRE. We are looking forward to having leadership students showing them around our campus and meeting staff. Transportation will be provided by the district and students will be returned to IRE to finish out the day.

Leadership is hosting an outdoor social on June 10th from 6pm to 8pm. More details in the next newsletter!

Many of our students have met or exceeded goals established in their iReady Math Program. As a reward for their hard work, they will be going on a field trip to Lynden Skateway also on June 9th. Students will rent their own skates and will return to school before the our dismissal.

Band Event

May 30 - Perform at Greenwood Cemetery on Wiser Lk Rd at 1:30 pm (Memorial Day service)

June 4th - 9 to noon - Travel to Lynden Farmers Day Parade (Front St in Lynden)

June 7th - Choir Concert at MHS

June 8th - 9 to noon - Jazz Band to perform at Trinity Lutheran Preschool

June 14th - 8th grade promotion

All 8th-grade boys interested in playing football for Meridian High School next year will have the opportunity to sign up, earn a "signing day" certificate, and celebrate with cake next Wednesday, June 1, during lunch.

At this lunchtime event, you will have the chance to get all the information you will need for joining the high school team, have your "signing day" picture taken, and meet some of the high school coaches.

The event is open to all, both those who have played before and anyone interested in trying football for the first time. Come take this step to join Meridian's most historically successful sports family!

Cynthia Richardson will be hosting in-person drop-in help sessions during the second week of June for any parent who wants support getting onto the GoGuardian app.

Parents can come on the days/times listed below, even if you don't have a student at that particular school. There isn't a presentation, it's 1:1 help, so you can come any time during that hour.
