Kindergarten Registration

The Mooresville Graded School District will be using PowerSchool Enrollment to pre-register Kindergarten students for the 2024-2025 School Year. You may complete the online enrollment process by visiting the appropriate enrollment link located below starting on 2/19/24. If you do not have internet access, you may visit the Mooresville Public Library to use one of its computers (304 S Main St, Mooresville, NC 28115 Phone: 704-664-2927).

MGSD is excited to offer a dual language immersion (DLI) option at all three elementary schools for the kindergarten class of 2024-2025. Participation is by lottery, which you can sign up for during kindergarten enrollment. The lottery will close on April 30, 2024, after which time you can sign up for the lottery waitlist. Please note: your child MUST be 5 years old by August 31, 2024, in order to attend kindergarten in 2024-2025.

Although enrollment will be completed online, there are some documents that are required to be sent to your student's home school. You will have the option of uploading these documents as you complete the online enrollment process. They also can be sent electronically or dropped off at the school office after you have completed enrollment online. Those documents are:

• Certified Birth Certificate (the person's name enrolling the child must be on the Birth Certificate)
• Two proofs of residency, one of which MUST be a current lease agreement or utility bill (no cell phone bills) dated within the last 60 days. Secondary proofs of residency may include a driver's license, bank or credit card statement, W2 or payroll stub, or mortgage payment, all dated within the past 60 days.
• Immunization Records
• Health Assessment
• Home Language Survey
• Custody Papers (if applicable)

MGSD offers on-site, licensed child care. You can register your kindergartener in our BASP once you enroll him/her in school. Registration is on a first come first serve basis and submission of an application does not guarantee your spot.
