At DeLeon Elementary, we are setting our expectations high for academic success, and it is also an expectation that students will be good citizens at school and in the community. Thank you, parents, for encouraging consistent attendance and supporting daily work. Our hope is that each and every child that walks these halls leaves knowing that they matter, are valued, and hold worth. We will work hard as a staff to meet the needs of each individual student. Thank you for sharing your child with us and for your continued support.

October is an exciting month in Guidance! We will cover many topics that you can reinforce at home. We will cover self-control and how to establish good habits with goal setting. The strategies being taught are Saying the Goal, Steps to the Goal, Set a Goal, Make a Plan, Planning for Success, and Reach Your Goal. I am excited to hear about the goals students are setting for themselves.
Sincerely, Tamala Franka, DeLeon Elementary Counselor It’s that time of year again!
The Fall Book Fair is almost here! Come join us in supporting the DeLeon Library starting October 28th – November 4th from 7:30 – 4:00. It’s an excellent opportunity to find some inspiring books for your child and promote the love of reading. As always, all purchases go to benefit our school. Additional information will be sent home soon. We hope to see you there! Sincerely, Lana Snow, DeLeon Elementary Librarian

I am in my 13th year of education, all of which have been at DeLeon Elementary. I spent four years teaching second grade and the last nine years teaching Kindergarten. I am a former DeLeon Dragon, and all my sons also went to DeLeon! I love our school and am proud of all we have accomplished❤️
Peggy Grier
I am thrilled to be back in the Kindergarten classroom as Mrs. Flemings' substitute. Born and raised in California, I began teaching in Irvine, California, after graduating from Chapman University. I retired after 30 years of teaching, 23 at DeLeon. We moved here when our four children were young. They are all married, and we are blessed with nine amazing grandchildren. I am proud and happy to see some of my former students teaching and subbing at Deleon. My heart will always be at DeLeon.

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Texas State University and a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, walking my dog, eating good food (mostly desserts), and reading. This is my third year as the Speech Language Pathologist at DeLeon, and it is my dream job!

Howdy, Y'all! I was born and raised in Wharton, TX. I attended PVAMU and studied Business Administration. After working at a law firm for four years and some long-term subbing, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching. I am a first-year teacher at DeLeon! So far, I am loving it and feel the everlasting support. My 3-year-old also attends here. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places with my little one in my free time. You can also find me cooking, dancing, or being silly with my family at home.
