Information for Families: What summer learning resources are being provided?
Read, read, read!
The research is clear that children who don't read during the summer can lose up to three months of reading progress and that loss has a cumulative, long-term effect. If you only have time to do 1 thing, read.
Use this helpful booklist - check out books at Medway Public Library
Inside your child’s report card envelope, you will find a summer learning Bingo Board. The activities on the board are designed to review key concepts from the grade your child has just completed. You could use the board a few times a week over the summer. Keep it on your fridge & use any activity when you can. After you complete the activity, cross it off. If you get 5 in a row, you get bingo! Bonus if you complete the whole board. Extra copies of the boards will be available at the Medway Public Library.
3. Accessing Apps over the summer
You could use your child’s individual QR code to log in to Clever & access learning apps used during the school year. Logging into Clever ensures that your child can access iReady and other apps used during SY 21-22. To log in to Clever, go to https://clever.com/ on any device with a camera. Hold up your child’s QR code and s/he will be signed in. It’s that easy! Once signed in, s/he can start using apps from their Clever homepage. QR codes will be provided in report card envelopes.
New Photo Vendor Selected
As a committee, we were impressed with their product, customer service, and their very low 3.5% retake photo rate. You can find out more about Geskus by clicking here.

Library End of Year Book Returns
Dear McGovern Families,
With the end of the school year getting closer the school library is looking for any books that may still be at home to be returned. Student check outs will finish on Friday June 3rd with no more books going home. We will also send out book return reminders the Friday after, June 10th.
Please be advised that any lost books should be paid for by check to the school. Please make out any payments to 'Medway Public Schools' with a note that the payment is for 'McGovern Lost Books'.
Thank you so much for all your help and support this year for our school library, we loved helping your students read and develop a love of books! If you have any questions or concerns regarding the return of your child's book(s), please email the library staff at either:
Mathew Holt - mholt@medwayschools.org
or

Spirit Week is Coming
Water bottles, Sunscreen and Proper Footwear
Please remind your students to bring their water bottles daily, we have had many thirsty visitors to the office this week. We want to ensure that all students have access to water throughout their day. Please be sure your child's name is clearly marked on their water bottle.
Please apply sunscreen to your student before they come to school as you see appropriate.
As students are participating in wellness and recess daily, please be mindful of the best type of footwear for physical play.
