Dear Families
Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful warm weather!
Wellbeing
Our Wellbeing Day last Friday was a fun day and I am sure our children went home feeling good about themselves. Yoga, mindfulness and an exciting Colour Run made for a great day. The wellbeing of our children is important given the last few years of Covid and the recent floods. We cannot underestimate the impact these experiences have had on our developing children.
Richard Poole our chaplain is always available to assist children and their families when they are experiencing trauma of any kind. Please don’t hesitate to call us for assistance.
Shade
We are getting a few more shade sails placed in our yard to further protect our children from the hot damaging sun. The poles have been put in place and the sails will be erected in a few weeks. We have many children playing in our yard without a hat. Please help us to protect them by ensuring they have a hat for all outdoor activities. Hats are available for purchase on QKR or at the office for $10.
Transition
Transition for our new 2023 Foundation students is exciting. We have two more sessions before Orientation Day on 13 December. All transition session assist our children to be ready for the next year. On Tuesday 13 December all our students will move to their new 2023 classes for a transition session to prepare for the coming year. They will spend some time in their new classroom with their 2023 teacher and class mates.
Mosquitoes
We know that there are heaps of mosquitoes everywhere and we know that their bite can affect people differently. If your child acquires a severe reaction please let their teacher know. We are trying to increase prevention as much as possible. Your help with this will be welcome. If you currently use repellent it might be good to apply it before school and we will endeavour to make it available to those that are happy to use it when needed.
Literacy and Numeracy
You are encouraged to take every opportunity to expose your children to literacy and numeracy in real life in your very own environment. Read, write, draw, play board games, count and measure, calculate, shop and anything else you can think of!
Developing literacy and Numeracy skills in real life situations are for ever lasting.
Take care
Denise
Excursion Levy
As the year is coming to an end, we have many end of year excursions that our students will be attending.
For your child to attend these outings, the excursion levy needs to be paid before they attend.
(If you applied for CSEF, excursion levy is covered)
If you have recently obtained a Health Care Card, please advise the school office.

Wellbeing colour run
On Friday we celebrated our Wellbeing and Colour Run Day. All students got to learn about healthy foods for our bodies, participate in yoga sessions and listen to an athlete. Then it was time to bring out the colour!
