TESTING! Students Emotion
Standardized tests create lots of stress. Most students try their best to pass and feel the pressure of being tested.
Here are some pictures of the beautifully inspirational messages our students received throughout the hallway as they reported to their testing classroom during the AACUPLACER and SAT testing
NURSE SUPERVISION
To parents: Please notify our nurse if your child has a medical condition requiring attention or medication. In unsupervised locations, students who provide prescribed medicines for diseases such as diabetes on their own may cause seizures and other complications. Please note that our nurse is on hand to help monitor those problems so students can stay safe and healthy throughout the day. All pieces of information provided to the nurse are left confidential. The email address for Nurse McDonald is hsnurse@cmitacademyorg.
Cafeteria Reminder
Breakfast and lunch are offered at CMIT. Meals are provided at no cost to students who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals. This is subject to the approval of the District. Parents are encouraged to complete the lunch application to determine their eligibility for meal benefits. Households can complete an application at MySchoolApps.com. Online applications are processed within 24-48 hours.
Students who are not eligible for free or reduced-priced meals must pay for their meals. See Meal Prices.
Making Payments Online
MySchoolBucks, owned and operated by Heartland Payment Systems, is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, make tuition payments for Before and After School Extended Learning programs, and receive email notifications for low account balances. With MySchoolBucks, payments can be made 24/7 using a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, credit or debit card, and mobile app. (https://www.pgcps.org/offices/food-and-nutrition/how-to-pay-for-lunch)
Student Driver Parking Permits
Administration and security have been checking vehicles for parking passes, and some student drivers/vehicles still need to be registered. Parents/guardians will also be contacted. The next stage will be to start tracking attendance for morning arrivals. Please ensure that your student drivers have registered their vehicles. Students must park in the place that has been given to them.
Hall Sweeps
Hall sweeps are still in effect and have aided in managing student absenteeism and misbehavior. Please continue to discuss with your child the importance of attending every lesson and arriving on time. No student should be in the hallway when the bell for classes rings.
Absences
Please notify your child's teachers and administrators ahead of time if he or she will be absent. An absence letter should be submitted within three days of the student's return. Submit an absence letter to Ms. Fermin, Attendance Secretary
at Excused Absence request form: https://forms.gle/HiqRvfYDSmBYGTs57
"When a student is missing the class, the parent(s)/guardian(s) must tell the school in writing by three (3) days after the child's return to school.
This also applies to dual enrollment students who attend college-level classes. The dates and reasons for the absence(s) must be specified in the explanation "AP 5113. Please be aware that absences for personal reasons are not excused..

Message from the Nurse
For scholars with severe food allergies, asthma-related signs, and symptoms, or other medical conditions, it is recommended that a Prescription Medication Order Form with medication for inhalers, Epipens, or any other medication be provided to the school Nurse for Provider diagnosed conditions.
If your child requires medication to be administered at school, you must have the physician complete the appropriate medication forms and provide the School Nurse with the pharmacy-prescribed unopened medication..
All over-the-counter medications should be prescribed by a medical provider, including cough drops, Tylenol, and Advil. Ibuprofen etc.
If your child has any medical condition other than those mentioned above, please feel free to contact the school Nurse to discuss these. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Please see the prescription order forms and Parent fact Sheet For medication at School. https://www.pgcps.org/offices/school-health/health-forms-for-parents-and-prescribers https://tinyurl.com/yeyrec4d

Students rotate positions within the group and meet for the class period on Fridays. The discussion leader provides questions each week on the reading that was assigned.
