Updates from the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas
In this special episode, Dr. Nils Roemer talks with Belofsky fellow Katie Fisher as he goes on a walking tour around the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site outside of Munich, Germany. This auditory experience captures the sound of the present-day landscape with its birdsong and tourist chatter and is layered with historical context and references provided by Dr. Roemer. By focusing on the sounds of the landscape and hearing the history of the camp, listeners enter into the process of remembering the Holocaust in a different way.
