A message from the Executive Director
Dear GLOBE families,
A reminder that there is no school on Thursday and Friday this week as we conduct Parent Teacher Conferences. Our teachers are very much looking forward to connecting with GLOBE parents/guardians over the next couple of days. School is also closed on Monday, October 9, for Indigenous Peoples' Day.
Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, October 10.
In community,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director
GLOBE Trot kicks off next week!
Tuesday, October 10, will mark the start of our fundraising period for the 9th annual GLOBE Trot which is set to take place on November 10. All students get to take part in this school-wide fun run and exercise-focused event that also serves as our biggest fundraiser of the year, with a goal of raising $135,000 through sponsorships and 100% fundraising participation from GLOBE families.
What sets GLOBE Trot apart from Annual Fund and PTCC fundraisers is that it's an opportunity for students to directly engage in fundraising to support the school. Students set up fundraising pages and ask for donations from family, friends and members of the community.
We need your support to make this year’s event a success and there are numerous ways that you can get involved.
Volunteer - We are looking for parent volunteers to help us promote the event. Sign up here.
Sponsor - Do you or a family member or friend own a business? We are still looking for event sponsors. For information, click here.
Show Your Spirit - Don’t forget your GLOBE Trot spirit wear.
Event information will be sent out next week with details on how to get started. Go GLOBE!

No Pet Policy
After recent events during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, we wanted to bring to your attention the following policy in this year’s Student and Family Handbook regarding pets. “Only certified service animals are permitted on school premises. Certified service animals are required to wear a vest or other ID that indicates they're a service dog. Families and students are not permitted to bring any other animals anywhere on either campus. Many GLOBE students and staff are allergic to animals and many students have a fear of certain animals.”
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations
Our UC Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations take place next week and PTCC need your help for the event to be a success. Please use this SignUpGenius link to volunteer to donate food from any of the 21 Hispanic countries or volunteer to serve the food on the day of the celebrations. Assistance is also required to help decorate the auditorium and cafeteria. Click here to sign up. Thank you.

A reminder that you must self-report Covid-19 cases to your campus nurse
GLOBE no longer has the funding, authority, or monitoring systems to track and trace cases beyond self-reporting. Therefore, we will not send exposure notifications as there is no longer a public health emergency and we thus risk violating federal confidentiality guidelines. GLOBE will continue to emphasize and monitor cleanliness and hygiene in all facilities. Masks are permitted but not required. Together, we can ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, staff, and families. For additional guidance, click here. Free covid test kits are available here for a limited time.

Our sincere thanks to all of our volunteers at the UC Scholastic GLOBE Book Fair
We want to thank everyone who volunteered during the UC Scholastic GLOBE Book Fair last week. Because of you, it was a huge success. The children had a blast and we raised wonderful funds to continue to buy books for each classroom. Add the LC Book Fair to your agenda (November 27 to December 1). We will do it again in a few months.
