Allen Eagle Escadrille TWIB Notes

AHS students are required to participate in a Spring Pep Rally this Friday January 26th. Please meet in the PAC Commons dressed in your Allen Escadrille Dri-Fit at 8:30am with your concert instrument. Tubas may need to bring cases. No double reeds. Percussion in appropriate battery equipment.

All incoming and returning band students for the 2024-2025 School Year will be required to attend various events this Spring and Summer. These events are designed to help train our students for the next marching band season. Attendance will be used to help us assign marching band spots for our 2024 Contest Show. All Students will be required to watch two bands after their performance or two bands prior to their call time (depending on their scheduled performance). Directors will clarify report times with students in classes.

The Jazz Band will be having auditions for the 2024-2025 year during the month of January. If you are at all interested in being a part of the jazz program next year, you are encouraged to complete the audition – it includes one music excerpt and an optional improvisation for those wanting to earn placement in an advanced ensemble. Submissions are due by Monday, January 22nd. You are welcome to submit your audition any time before that. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Baczewski!

This year auditions for the Allen Color Guard will be VIRTUAL! This means that everything will be self-paced (over 2.5 weeks), and auditions will be submitted through the canvas course. Encourage your non-band friends to audition and join the fun in the 24-25 colorguard. Please see the COLORGUARD WEBPAGE for more details.

The 2024 Nomination Committee is currently seeking applicants that are interested in serving on the Allan Band Booster booster Association executive board for the 2024-25 school year. Please take a moment to look over the application, and fill it out if you are interested in serving on next year's board in any capacity. If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops after Spring Break. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class.
