Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,

Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome students and families back on January 4, 2021. Once we receive confirmation from DCPS, we will share Term 3 related engagement opportunities, to discuss the reopen plan and instructional models. As previously shared, you may find Term 3 and CARE classroom updates, below.

• One 4th Grade Care Classroom is slated to open on January 6, 2021. Student seat offers are ongoing, based on the DCPS student selection process.
• One 5th Grade Care Classroom is slated to open on January 6, 2021. Student seat offers are ongoing, based on the DCPS student selection process.
• Term 3 begins on February 1, 2021. We are slated to offer 1 In-Person or 1 CARE Classroom per grade (PK-5), based on safety regulations and feedback collected from families, staff and community stakeholders.

Final decisions on when DC Public Schools will offer in-person learning is not made by school leadership or at the school level and is directed by DCPS Central Office. We will continue to share next steps, as available. A link to DCPS Reopening plans is available under "Previous Updates".

Hyde-Addison Elementary Schools

We are excited to welcome Hyde-Addison students back to virtual learning after winter break. Please be mindful that there are several non-instructional days for students in January and review the DCPS Calendar. DCPS just released Family Cornerstones, a roadmap for families from Pre-K to graduation that highlights key shared learning experiences that are essential to the partnership between DCPS schools and families! With options for elementary, middle, and high school-aged students, you can check out all of the fun activities here in English, Spanish, or Amharic (or click the image below).
