Bullying Yourself??
Studies have found that the voice you use to speak to yourself is one of the biggest influences on your mental well-being. Those who have a kind and patienct inner voice can comfort themselves in times of worry, stress, or sadness. However, many of us have an internal voice that criticizes us and attaks our self-worth. You may not even know when your negative inner voice began, but it's important to know that you donj't have to listen to it anymore.
If your inner voice is less like a best friend and more like a bully, you'll find it harder to ignore the negative emotions that feed your anxiety. A critical inner voice is likely to say comments such as:
*You can't cope *You're weak *You're a failure *You're not a good person
The good news is you can make your inner voice kinder! It takes dedication, but you can do it. The first step is to recognize when your inner voice is talking. Imagine what someone who loves and cares about you might say instead, like:
*I'm really proud of you *You deserve to feel proud of yourself* You're the bravest person I know
Try it! It takes time but you CAN change your inner voice to be kinder!

Community Partner Spotlight!
Rainbow Fashion is an organization creating diversity and inclusion in fashion in Northwest Arkansas. Rainbow Fashion organizes LGBTQ-inclusive fashion shows, photoshoots, and works with local LGBTQ fashion designers to highlight beauty in diversity and provide new opportunities for queer inclusion in fashion. RF is a regular participant in NWA Fashion Week and is proud to provide clothing designed by and for transgender people.
The Rainbow Closet is a program run by RF providing free clothing and community aid to help meet the basic human need for clothing in underserved, marginalized communities. The closet primarily focuses on assisting transgender people through the costly and vulnerable process of acquiring new gender-affirming clothing. RC creates a safe, private space for people to explore their authentic selves. "Shoppers" are encouraged to take as many clothing, shoes, and accessories as they want. Although RC focuses on the trans community, the closet is open to anyone regardless of gender or sexual orientation; everyone needs clothes, and everyone is welcome in our closet!
How can you support Rainbow Fashion? Follow us on social media for updates about future fashion programming and opportunities to support the free closet. We are a completely volunteer-based organization and always need help! Interested parties are encouraged to sign up as a volunteer, show up for volunteer sorting days, donate gently-used clothing, or offer financial contributions.
