UIL Choir Solo and Ensemble Results
Twenty-four Canyon Lake choir students and one piano student competed at Solo & Ensemble contest on Saturday, February 23 at Churchill HS in San Antonio. Students earned 18 solo medals and 11 ensemble medals. Fourteen students qualified to advance to the state contest in June.
Stephanie Stoker received a rating of Excellent on her vocal solo. Mia Aguilar, Avery Chappell, Madison Evans, Lyndsay Ford, Cazmere Garcia, Sophie Hamilton, Kaelyn Holman, Ashley Lanphere, Gabriella Lasiter, Edith Leon, Shelby Ludwig, Elric Osborn, Jenna Reed, Tea Serna, Abby Stanford, Grace Taber and Aubrey Wright all received Superior ratings for their vocal solos. Alina Trevino received a Superior rating for her piano solo. Destiny Brooks, Avery Chappell, Madison Evans, Bruce Hughes, Charles Kidd, Ashley Lanphere, Gabriella Lasiter, Shae Ohlenforst, Elric Osborn, Alec Perkins, and Jolee Perkins all received Superior ratings for ensembles.
Seven vocal solos, one piano solo, and two ensembles will be advancing to the state solo and ensemble contest.

Members of the Canyon High School Choir and Piano Departments attended the Region 12 UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019.
Twenty-six vocal solos performed, twenty-seven ensemble members, and three piano solos. Students receiving excellent ratings for their solos were: Danielle Bear, Grace Smith, Michelle Oakley, and Emily Self. Students receiving excellent ratings for their ensemble performance include: Jasmin Aleman, Anastasia Bernstein, Marisa Cantu, Ana Fuentes, Raely Gonzales, Brianna De Jesus, Montana Hunt, Alanise Maldonado, Emma Rosales, and Madison Watson.
Students receiving superior ratings for their vocal solos were: Taytum Dove, Sydnee Welch, Madison Watson, Myles Meyer, Delainey Main, and Emma Grubbs. Earning superior ratings for their ensemble performance were: Danielle Bear, Lauren Beville, Samantha Diaz, Trista Marcoe, Michelle Oakley,Jessica Solomon, Emma Grubbs, Mackenzie Hayes, Lynsey Kirkwood, Edison Cottle, Emma Falcone, Madelynn Gonzalez, Megan Humphrey, Omar Mora, Abigail Morgan, Alan Ruan, and Sean Schoonover.
Students earning superior ratings on their UIL Vocal solos and qualifying to attend the State UIL Contest include: Jasmin Aleman, Brandon Bartelli, Anastasia Bernstein, Jasmine Browning, Marisa Cantu, Samantha Diaz, Camille Dona, Victoria Etter, Emma Falcone, Ana Fuentes, Madelynn Gonzalez, Megan Humphrey, Georgina Leal, Mariah Mattson, Abigail Morgan, and Abby Neill. All three pianists earned a superior rating on their solo. Those students were Andrew Moberly, Dylan Hook, and Ryli Brace. In addition, Dylan and Ryli have qualified to take their solo on to the State contest.
The students were coached and accompanied by Directors, Shareen Vader and Karla Cruz.
