Strategic planning is a systematic process through which an organization agrees on and builds key stakeholder commitment to priorities that are essential to its mission and responsive to the organizational environment. Strategic planning guides the acquisition and allocation of resources to achieve these priorities.
This year each school in the district is developing new strategic plans. We are focusing on issues that are important to our school and ensuring that this strategic plan will align to other instructional priorities we have set forth. Stakeholder involvement is critical to the success of a strategic plan.
Phase 1 of our strategic planning meetings each month has involved developing a better understanding around our beliefs and mission of our school. Now that we are confident we have are clear about those school beliefs as well as instructional priorities, we would like to host focus groups with parents to hear from you about your perceived strengths of our school, potential areas of growth, and aspirations you hope for our students.
Please join me on October 12 at 7:30am for Coffee and Conversation. This will give us an opportunity to seek your input as we continue to develop our 5 year school strategic plan.
Red Ribbon Week
Begin with End in Mind! We know that having strong interpersonal skills are key to our students’ success. As a part of our Red Ribbon Week recognition this year, we will be hosting a Professional Parrot Contest for our 5th grade students!
This competition will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 25th from 8:30-10:00am. We need 10 judges who would like to interact with the leaders of tomorrow! As a judge, you will have the opportunity to be wowed by our Pontiac students. Your job will be to help us choose our first Professional Parrot based on professional attire, the student’s introduction of themselves, their conversation skills and confidence.
Please contact Mrs. Whitney at jwhitney@richland2.org or 699-2700 x81010 if you would like to be a judge. Please no 5th grade parents, but all others welcome. Thanks for your support!
