The Student Support Services Team and the Lion Cub Family would like to thank our School Counselor, Mrs. Tricomi for all she does for the students and families of HRE! When you see Mrs. Tricomi around school this week, make sure you show her some love!

Our 3rd-5th grade students will be taking their NC Check-Ins this week. Students should go to bed early, eat a good breakfast, and come to school on time ready to show what they know! We know our Lion Cubs will do their best and take their time! Please see the parent letter linked below.

Reminders:

• Families may come to eat lunch with your students. Please reach out to your child's teacher to let them know you are coming so they can plan for seating. Remember: NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK MAY BE BROUGHT IN. Upon arrival, please sign in at the front office and get a visitor's tag.

Lion Cub Leaders can help our community in many ways. Please bring your items and turn them into your homeroom teacher!

Each week during morning announcements, Mr. Bryan will announce the “Lion Cub Lingo” Words of the week. These words have been pulled from an academic vocabulary list that are most commonly used on formative and summative assessments. Students that use those words with adults in the building in the correct context can be rewarded with a House Point.

This week, students in grades K-3 will continue their McLass reading assessments and students in grades 3rd-5th will take their NC Check-Ins. As these assessments are completed, we will update our Super Bowl scores and issue cub currency and House Points for student growth, so stay tuned!

During the new year, are you looking for ways to give back to our community? Volunteering your time at our school would be a great way to be involved. The points leader of the whole school for the 22-23 school year is Itzel S., in 2nd Grade with 195 points!

In first place is Excelsior with 6,444 points. The points leader for last week was Kaden D., in 5th grade. The points leader for this school year is Itzel S., in 2nd grade.
