Destination Imagination
We are so excited to kick off a new season of Destination Imagination in the Muskego Norway School District!
Destination Imagination is a creative problem solving competition. It promotes creative thinking in students from 1st grade through college. It offers students a unique opportunity to participate in challenging and motivating activities from drama, writing, building, and creating. Students learn to work with others as a team developing self-confidence by creating solutions, evaluating ideas and making final decisions. If you believe this after school activity is for your child, there are a number of ways to learn more about DI. Please access the links below to either learn more about DI or sign up. Check it out! Sign up by November 10th.
If you have any questions, please contact Mill Valley’s DI coordinators Julie Hetzel or Rachelle Enk.

Meet Michelle Fox ~ CPA Therapist
Michelle will be the CPA Therapist who will be serving the elementary schools across the district. Michelle will be located in Room 102 (across from the health room).
My philosophy begins with the idea that we all do well when we can. Life can be unpredictable, and ways of coping have to evolve to meet challenges. My role is to help individuals and families consider why they are not at their best, and help to find strategies to improve their functioning.
Throughout my nearly 15 year career, I have specialized in working with concerns ranging from behavioral problems, anxiety, anger, and social skills; to trauma, attachment, abuse, and
neglect. I work from a trauma-informed, person centered approach, and believe that early
interactions and experiences can shape how we navigate our world.
My undergraduate degrees are in psychology and education. I obtained my Master’s degree
from the University of WI- Milwaukee in Educational Psychology; Community Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My experience has led me to work in various settings including schools, residential treatment, outpatient, in- home, and in primary care clinics. My passion has been working in school settings where children and families can find accessible care for their behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
Working together to build a strong collaborative relationship, and utilizing a strength-based
approach I can help adults, children, and families to foster meaningful change in their daily life.

Math Pilot Information
It was shared at the beginning of the year that select classrooms are engaged in a math pilot this school year. In the coming weeks, teachers will be transitioning from Illustrative Mathematics to Bridges. Pilot teachers will be sharing additional information regarding their upcoming instruction. If your child’s classroom teacher is piloting this year, you will be receiving a short four question survey to provide us with additional information. The results of this survey will be part of the recommendation process moving forward.
We also wanted to provide you with additional information regarding report cards. The Wisconsin State Standards that guide instruction are year long grade level targets. The pacing of when a pilot teacher might provide instruction on a particular standard might differ from a nonpilot classroom. However, teams are being thoughtful to ensure consistent coverage will take place by the end of the year. This may impact the scoring of report cards. Co-pilot teachers will score report cards in a consistent manner, but it may differ from classrooms using our traditional resource. Please talk with your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions.
