A Memo From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I trust this memo finds you well. As we approach the midpoint of the 2nd 9-weeks, I would like to bring your attention to the crucial aspects of your child's education: attendance and grades. These elements are integral to their success, growth, and overall academic experience.
Attendance Matters:
Regular attendance is a key factor in academic success. It ensures that students have consistent access to learning materials, engage in classroom discussions, and build a strong foundation for future knowledge. We have observed that students who attend classes regularly tend to perform better in assessments and exams.
We kindly request your support in encouraging your child to attend school punctually and consistently. If there are any challenges affecting their attendance, please do not hesitate to communicate with us so that we can work together to find a solution. We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, and we are here to provide the necessary support.
Grades and Academic Progress:
Grades are an essential reflection of your child's academic performance. They provide valuable insights into their strengths, areas for improvement, and overall understanding of the curriculum. Regular assessments, projects, and class assignments contribute to the grading process, allowing us to assess your child's progress accurately.
We encourage you to review your child's grades regularly through our online grading system. This platform provides real-time updates on assignments, assessments, and overall performance. If you have any concerns about your child's grades or if they are facing challenges in any subject, please reach out to the respective teachers.
We are committed to working collaboratively to support your child's academic growth. If you need assistance logging into the Student Progress Center, please email our counselor, Tarasha.williams@vpsb.net for assistance or call her at 337-898-3943.
Please visit our website for the directions and access for the Student Progress Center. https://jhw.vpsb.net
Partners in Education:
Your partnership with us is invaluable in ensuring the success of your child's education. By working together, we can create an environment that nurtures learning, growth, and achievement.
Thank you for your continued support.

CHROMEBOOKS
We are so excited to continue to offer this wonderful technological tool to all of our students. Students will be issued a daily use Chromebook to complete activities; however, Chromebooks will remain on campus unless a need arises for remote learning.
Students must be in their homeroom no later than 7:23 to receive their Chromebooks in homeroom. Any student arriving after this time will not be allowed to go to homeroom to pick up their Chromebook (so as to not disturb that class). We appreciate your efforts in having students arrive at school on time.
Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Due to safety issues, the drop-off and pick-up area is in the back of the school by the stadium. Please do not drop off or pick up students in front of the school.
Thank you for your cooperation.
