Thanksgiving Break Starts Next Week!

November 17, 2023
From the Desk of Superintendent, Dr. Kevin S. Miller
Dear Licking Heights Families,
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, this is the perfect time for me to reflect about all I am thankful for in our district. From the outstanding success of our students, to the teamwork and care of our staff, to the continued support of our families, I consider myself incredibly blessed to call Licking Heights my professional home.
This year has already brought many reasons to give thanks. I was particularly moved last week as I traveled to different schools in our district for the annual Veterans Day celebrations put on by our staff and students. Seeing all of the veterans in our community who selflessly gave their lives gathering together to celebrate and be honored by our staff and students made me thankful to be in a district where we exemplify the values of respect, community, and gratitude.
I am also grateful for any time I get to see our students shine–whether that is in the classroom, on the athletic field, or on the stage. This weekend presents an excellent opportunity for just that. Join our high school theatre students as they present Grease in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. tonight, Fri., Nov. 17 and both 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. tomorrow, Sat., Nov. 18. Click the button below to buy your tickets online.
Along with sharing joy and giving thanks during the holidays, it is also crucial we remember and support those who may be grieving lost family members this year. In the aftermath of the tragedy suffered by the students, staff, families, and community of Tuscarawas Valley, I hope that you join me in lifting up those impacted in our thoughts and prayers and recognizing that each day is a gift we should not take for granted.
Join me in giving thanks for our community here at Licking Heights and working to ensure everyone feels welcome and loved this holiday season.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kevin S. Miller, Superintendent
