A Message from the Principal
Hello ALMS Families,
As the holiday season fills the air, it's been a week bursting with creativity, community spirit, and joyful talent at Albert Leonard Middle School! Let me tell you about the incredible highlights:
Doors of Delights: Our staff door decorating competition was a feast for the eyes! Walking through the hallways has become a scavenger hunt for fantastical winter wonderlands, hilarious seasonal parodies, and dazzling educational themed displays. The staff poured their hearts and humor into making our school a festive wonderland, and the students' exuberance was a joy to witness.
Señora Stewart Steps into the Spotlight: This week, our Teacher Spotlight focused on our brilliant Spanish teacher. Using Canva, students created storyboards depicting an original story using irregular verbs. It was a heartwarming tribute to his dedication and the positive impact he has on our students' language learning journey.
Melodies in the Making: Our Winter Instrumental Concert this week was a resounding success! The band, and orchestra filled the auditorium with music that was both powerful and serene. Seeing our young musicians come together and share their passion for music was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to Ms. Masters and Mr. Foti for helping to put on a beautiful show and preparing our students to perform!
Caroling for a Cause: Our Select Chorus spread cheer throughout the community this week with their beautiful caroling performances. From Quaker Ridge to Wykagyl, they brought the magic of the season! Their dedication and talent shone brightly, warming hearts and spreading holiday cheer.
And how could I forget the highlight of the week for many students: Bongo's Bingo! This well organized bingo event, complete with prizes and snacks was an afternoon of pure fun and laughter. It was a perfect example of student and teacher initiative and creativity, and it brought our school community together in a vibrant, joyful way.
As we head into the holiday break, I'm filled with immense gratitude for our amazing students, our dedicated staff, and the supportive families who make ALMS such a special place. We've shared a week of creativity, learning, and community spirit, and I can't wait to see what the next year holds.
Wishing you all a peaceful and joyful holiday season, and a warm welcome back to ALMS in the new year!
Warm Regards,
Camille Edwards-Thomas
