LETTER FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL:
Dear Bobcat Families,
Last weekend was Junior Olympics! I truly loved the Olympic feel of the entire day. Everyone was rooting for their school and at the same cheering all the teams on. The weather was perfect and the smiles on everyones faces made my heart happy all weekend. Thank you everyone who volunteered and all who came, students, parents and teachers! A very special thank you to Kelly Sanders-Lo who lead our wonderful group of volunteers and did all the back work that made it go off without a hitch!
SAFETY IN THE PARKING LOT - DROP OFF AND PICK UP
This week you may have seen me patrolling the parking lot between 8:20-8:35. Earlier in the week we had a small accident and a student who almost got hit.
PLEASE, DO NOT DROP YOUR STUDENT OFF IN THE PARKING LOT. Please follow the rules that we put into place to keep your student safe. Pull into the circle, curbside and let your student out of the car once you are in front of the school. Or park and walk your student through the parking lot.
I understand it gets backed up and sometimes it is slow, but I would rather your student be a minute late rather than get hit by a car. Remember, you can drop off anytime between 8:15-8:30.
Thank you for keeping everyone at Santa Rita safe!
CAASP Testing has started for 3rd-6th graders. Please help your student do their best by getting plenty of sleep, a good breakfast and getting them to school on time. Please try not to take your student out of school for the next 3 weeks, especially in the am hours when testing will be going on.
TOMORROW IS TWIN DAY or Triplets or Whole groups day, just dress alike!
Thank you for keeping our community safe and healthy!
Stay Bobcat Strong!

BOBCAT STRONG
Wednesday, May 4th is National Bike, Walk or Wheel to School day!
National Bike, Walk, or Wheel to school day is Wednesday, May 4, 2022. All Bobcats are encouraged to commute to school by riding their bike, walking, scooting, or any other method that doesn’t involve a car. By participating, you’ll be joining students and families from thousands of schools across California and the United States! In addition, you’re doing your part to ensure the air we breathe stays clean. Did you know vehicles emit a variety of air pollutants, resulting in increases in ground-level ozone, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter such as particles of dust, soot, smoke, dirt, and liquid droplets? Ick. This is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint while having a safe and fun walk or ride to school.
If you’ve never walked or biked to school before, no problem! We’ll have meeting points throughout the Santa Rita school zone where you can meet up with other walkers and riders to go together in a group. We need some parent volunteers that can bike and walk with students. If you can participate, or have any questions, please reach out to jon@santaritapta.org
Walk and Wheel with your Community video challenge!
This year, we have learned the importance of our wellness and the necessity of moving our bodies! That’s why we are launching our Video Challenge to promote walking and wheeling to your favorite places. In conjunction with May Bike Month we are excited to announce an inclusive challenge that aims to learn more about how YOU walk and wheel to your favorite places in Los Altos. It can be a park, downtown, a store, anyplace you love to visit via active transportation.
We want to learn more about how you, your friends, family and community move around to your favorite places. Get a group or apply by yourself!
We will be giving out 1st, 2nd ,3rd place prizes and/or a classroom prize!
Fill out your contact information and submit your video by May 15, here or on TikTok using the hashtag #WalkandWheel.

LOVE LOS ALTOS: [LOS ALTOS DISTRICT WIDE NEWS & LAEF UPDATES]
The Los Altos Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that our community has donated over $2.8M this school year to fund teachers and staff for essential programs benefiting every LASD student!
We’ve met our goal! Thank you for strongly supporting our schools!
You've made it possible for the district to deliver a high-quality, well-rounded learning experience for all TK-8 grade students by funding STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts at every school this year.
The net amount contributed above our fundraising goal will be granted to the district as part of our flexible grant for these programs.
