Dear Families,

Bird Middle School wishes you and your families a healthy and relaxing Winter Break. We hope that you get to spend some quality time with family and friends during the remainder of this holiday season. And, we wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Our grade 6 students gave us some fantastic performances earlier this week! Great job by all!

On Thursday, our staff participated in a fun game called "Snowflake in your Pocket". Three "snowflakes" were given to random staff to begin the morning. Then staff asked each other if they had a "snowflake" in their pocket throughout the day. If you had one, you had to give to whoever asked you. At the end of the day, the staff members who ended up with a "snowflake" won a gift card to Dunkin. We have pictured the winners below. Congratulations!

Although we have been successful in reuniting some items with their owners we have quite a large amount of clothing, water bottles and lunch bags that have not been claimed. Therefore we are clearing the decks on December 22nd and will be donating all lost and found items to charity. The tables will be cleared and we will start the new year with a clean surface. If your student loses anything in the future, remind them to check the tables in the cafeteria and outside the gym.

We have some more valuable items in our front office (pictured below). They are safe and if they look familiar please ask your student to stop by and let us know what is theirs.

Unified sports will resume in the New Year. We will offer floor hockey/ dodge ball, same time, same days, same place, Tues/ Wed 2:30-3:40 in the gym.
