New Benchmark Assessment: i-Ready
What is i-Ready and how will it be used?
i-Ready Benchmark Assessment for BCS K-5 Students
All Berkeley County Schools students who are in kindergarten through 5th grade will take benchmark assessments for reading and mathematics, through the iReady program, three times a year. i-Ready is an online program for reading and mathematics that will help your student's teacher(s) determine your student's needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year.
Be watching for student results from the first benchmark assessment to be coming home with your student.
The iReady platform is new to our students. As the students learn to use the new program, they will show growth in both reading and mathematics. Some of our students’ scores this first time may not be a true reflection of their mastery of the standards to this point. Since students have taken the first benchmark assessment, they will now begin individualized practice for 45 minutes a week for both reading and mathematics. Teachers will also be able to use the information from the assessments to better individualize instruction.
We are excited about this opportunity for your student. If you have questions, please contact your school.
