Martin School Family Update

Dear Families,

I hope you all had a great week following our Thanksgiving break! Many of the children were a little tired at the start of the week but bounced back by the week's end!

Next week is a big week for us! Wednesday, December 7th, is report card day! This term, all elementary school report cards in the district will be released online through the Aspen portal. Report cards are scheduled to be able to be viewed by 3:30pm on the 7th.

Thank you to all of Martin families and staff who attended the Angle Tree Brewery Fundraiser. Not only did you help support the MSA's Playground Committee's fundraiser for a fully accessible play structure, you also helped to support a new local business run in part by past Martin parents! We raised $946 in Venmo and through cash donations. We are waiting to hear about the total raised through draft purchases.

If your business matches your donations, please consider donating to the MSA for this play structure! Venmo donations may still be made to @MartinSchool-Association In the notes, please just state the donation is for the playground.

In honor and memory of Mrs. Leco, please consider donating a pair of new socks, gloves or mittens to “Mrs. Leco’s Giving Trees”. They will be located in the main hallway of Martin School.

Donations can be sent in with your child or dropped off at Martin School through Thursday December 8.

Our Nature Trail has been cleared and our walking bridge repaired thanks to the efforts of Scouts of Pack 12, Troop 23, Troop 33, and Troop 1846. If you are a member of one of those groups, thank you so much! We truly appreciate that you spent your Saturday during Thanksgiving break to bring our trail back to life!

All of the children did a wonderful job running around the gym in an attempt to help their class win the highly coveted Turkey Trot Trophy! This year's winners were:

Kindergarten: Mrs. Ferreira and Mrs.Cole

First Grade: Ms. Estrella

Second Grade: Ms. Paterson

Third Grade: Mrs. Curran and Mrs. Howland

Fourth Grade: Mrs. Woodcock, Mrs. Romanko, and Mrs. Balboni

Fifth Grade: Mrs. Neves

All families may opt to insure their child's chrome book for $25 since all students use assigned chrome books in school. It is strongly recommended to families of children in grades 4 and 5 since chrome books may occasionally be going home with those students. For more information, please click here.
