We had a great week at ECC. The warmer weather allowed for playing outside on the playgrounds, which made everyone excited for spring! Next week is Read Across America Week. ECC's daily activities are included below. Please celebrate reading with us at home too. Read old favorite books and try some new books! Read to stuffed animals or try creating a cozy little reading space. Please contact your child's teacher if you would like a couple of books sent home for the week. In classrooms, teachers will be reading a variety of books from diverse authors. It's going to be a fun week of reading together. Get started at home this weekend!

Illness Reporting

We continue to have several absences due to upper respiratory symptoms at ECC. If your child has any symptom(s) of any illness, including cold symptoms, we ask that you keep your child home from school and report their absence and the symptom(s) they are having to their teacher. Nurse Roz will then follow up with you regarding ECC guidelines for returning to school. If you are keeping your child home for other reasons please report that to their teacher as well. Thank You!

Please read the below weather memo. Make sure you have notified your child's teacher and the front office staff if you have had any changes in your contact information (email, phone number) Feel free to contact the front office with any questions.

ECC registration for the 2021-2022 school year is just around the corner! The office will be open for registration beginning Monday, March 1, 2021. If you have an existing student, you may request a packet be sent home with your child. If you're a returning family, you may contact Mary Crabtree in the front office, 317-869-4751.

• K-4 - 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center 8400 East 10th Street.

• 5-12 - 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesday from 8:00-9:30 a.m. or 4:00- 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street. All hybrid in-person students will have the opportunity to pick up meals while in-person to take home for the following school day. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!

When dropping off a child using the main entrance, please be sure your vehicle and belongings are safe. It is best to turn your vehicle off, bring other children to the entrance with you and lock your vehicle with belongings out of sight. ECC has experienced vehicle theft (when left running/keys are inside) and theft of belongings (visible from the windows) while parents/caregivers are dropping off & picking up. Since the days are shorter and it is dark during these times, the risk increases. Be safe!

It is requested that each child come to school with a full change of clothing, including underwear and socks, in their backpack. Is your child's change of clothing appropriate for the changing seasons? Please make sure you have replaced summer clothes with warmer clothing. We appreciate your assistance.

If you know someone searching for a quality preschool program, send them to the Warren Early Childhood Center! We have spaces currently available for half day and full day classes. We also accept On My Way and CCDF vouchers. Registration appointments can be made by calling Mary Crabtree in the ECC office, 317-869-4751.

Session Times for the 20-21 school year are as follows:

Half Day Morning 8:50 to 11:50 a.m.

Half Day Afternoon 12:55 to 3:55 p.m.

Full Day 9:20 to 3:20 p.m.

Child Care 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

If you arrive after the car line has concluded, you will need to park your car and check your child in with the front office.

AM Half Day- Car line closes at 9:00 a.m.

PM Half Day- Car line closes at 1:00 p.m.

Full Day- All car lines, Orange, Pink & Yellow, close at 9:30 a.m.

Thank you for having your car sign displayed for dismissal. It's makes the car line move much quicker. Don't forget to have your ID ready to present to staff when asked.
