IT'S TIME TO CHOOSE ELECTIVE COURSES FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR
CURRENT 9th, 10th, and 11th Grade students can now click on the buttons below for INSTRUCTIONS and a LINK to complete the ELECTIVE SELECTION FORMS for the 2024-2025 school year!
Upon clicking the button below, you will also find a link to the 24-25 Coronado High School Course Catalog, which offers class descriptions for all of the courses being offered (and so much more).
Students must be logged into their CCSD Google account in order to access the selection form.
Please read the instructions carefully and click submit once selections have been made.
The selection forms will be open until January 19, 2024.
The NVigate Nevada State Treasurer College Savings Art Contest ~ a 1st Place Winner from Coronado!!!
We are excited to announce that Kangwoo Kim was selected as a 1st Place winner in the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office 3rd Annual “What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up” Art Contest! Kangwoo's artistic skill was awarded with a $1,000 college savings account and a recognition plaque. Awesome work Kangwoo!
Red Out for UNLV
UNLV Strong ~ Rebel Red Friday 12/8
Coronado pride is strong as we shout out students Reed and Dean Gubler!!! They planned the Rebel Red Day for our Coronado campus then took it upon themselves to be leaders and build something meaningful for our entire local community. The Gubler brothers contacted the media and shared their plans with the superintendent's office to take REBEL RED DAY district-wide. CCSD jumped on board and 12/8/23 was officially a DISTRICT-WIDE RED OUT in support of UNLV. #VegasStrong #UNLVStrong
FINAL SENIOR CREDIT CHECK MEETINGS WITH COUNSELORS 1/8 - 1/19
Our CHS Counselors will be meeting with the Class of 2024 in January for their final Academic Planning Meetings. These credit check meetings are an important step to ensure that each senior is on track for graduation day.
The countdown to graduation is on!

THE DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31 FOR THE PEF CORONADO SCHOLARSHIPS
PEF - Coronado High School Career Technical Education Scholarship ~ $500
Coronado High School Clark County, Nevada, college bound seniors who have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA and are enrolled in a CTE Program for 3 years (preferred), may apply for this scholarship. Students must have a 3.0 GPA in the program of study. Two scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded.
Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before a check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.
PEF - Coronado High School Counselors' Scholarship ~ $1,000
Coronado High School Clark County, Nevada seniors who have overcome adversities and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution may apply for this scholarship. Two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be offered.
Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before a check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.
PEF - Coronado High School First Generation College Student Scholarship ~ $500
Coronado High School Clark County, Nevada, college bound seniors who have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA and are the first in their family to attend college to pursue a college degree may apply for this scholarship. Two scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded.
Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before a check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.
PEF - Coronado High School Vegas Strong Scholarship ~ $500
Coronado High School Clark County, Nevada, college bound seniors who have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA and participate in a school club/activity and displays the “Coronado High School Spirit” through examples of perseverance in their own lives and/or considerateness of others may apply for this scholarship. One scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded.
Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before a check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.
EPICUREAN CHARITABLE FOUNDATION FULL TUITION HOSPITALITY SCHOLARSHIP & MENTORING
THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY FOR A STUDENT PURSUING A CAREER WITHIN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY.
Scholarships are awarded in amounts up to $35,000 for students attending UNLV.
• Each student will be mentored throughout the year one-on-one by a member of the ECF Board of Directors.
• Mentors meet monthly with his/her student and may provide unique employment opportunities, etiquette training, career guidance, academic assistance and experienced insight.
• Mentors are renowned industry leaders.
• Entry into ECF's prestigious leadership development program.

PLANNING AHEAD ~ FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE
Hello Coronado Families! You've asked and we've listened.
The FINAL Exam schedule for the 2023-2024 school year has been shared in this newsletter. The dates are provided so that you can plan your schedule accordingly.
If your student does not take the final exam, they will receive a zero for the exam grade.
MAKE UP EXAMS:
Per District regulation, final exams cannot be given early.
Make up exams will be administered during class or before/after school during the three days of final exams. (5/16-5/20)
EXAM INFO:
o There will be NO retakes on semester exams.
o All semester exam grades are final.
o Semester Exams will be entered at the percentage toward meeting the standards.
o Semester Exams will be posted without adjusting to the minimum score of 50%.
o For example, if a student earns a 32% on the semester exam, the score is applied without adjusting to the minimum score of 50%.
