Our "SOUP"er Bowl is tomorrow! Thank you to all of our parents who volunteered to bring in soups and sides! Please come to the main office and Ms. Colvin and Ms. Upton will direct you on where to set up. If you are watching the Super Bowl tonight, ENJOY!

Thank you to everyone who attended our PTA meeting this past Wednesday. We love having so many parents willing to come together to make our school the best it can be! We have lots of new information for you this week, so please pay close attention to everything we have going on at RES!

1. The Kids Heart Challenge has begun and will last from 2/8-2/23. Please see the attached flyers for more details.
2. This week is our Kindness Spirit Week (details are in the attachments below)

• SAVE THE DATE! Let's "Go Nutz for Reading" with the Richmond Flying Squirrels! During the months of February and March, RES students will have the opportunity to complete a special bookmark and earn a FREE ticket to the Flying Squirrels baseball game on Wednesday, May 29th! All they have to do is READ! **Use this link to purchase tickets for other family members early - and help raise funds for our school! *Detailed information will be coming home with your child next week.

The Advisory Committee for Equity in Education (ACEE) is a group of community members serving in partnership with Goochland County’s School Administrators and staff. ACEE was established to help support the goals of Goochland’s school system when it comes to equity in education. Please see attached for more details!

Goochland County Public Schools is accepting applications for preschool for the 2024-2025 school year! Goochland has preschool classrooms at each of its three elementary schools. These preschool programs are full-day programs and transportation to and from school is provided. Our preschool programs at Byrd Elementary School are for three- and four-year-olds. Our preschool programs at Randolph and Goochland Elementary Schools are for four-year-olds. You can apply for preschool using this online application. How can students be referred for gifted screening?

A teacher or a parent may refer a child for gifted screening. If your child exhibits gifted behaviors and is performing above level, you or your child’s teachers may refer your child as a good candidate. The spring testing window opens February 1st and closes February 29th.

Go to Goochland County Schools Gifted Page. Here you will find the Gifted Referral Process and the Initial Referral Form. This form is due to Randolph Elementary by 3pm on February 29th.

We had a great PTA meeting this week! Our Edumarking will be completed this Spring (this was from our APEX fundraiser in 2022), and we are also starting the process to update the kickball and soccer fields as well from the money raised from APEX this past Fall. If you know of a company that specializes in turf please reach out and let us know.

Tomorrow is also our "Souper" Bowl for the RES staff and we appreciate everyone who is able to bring items in for this event!
