Message from the Superintendent
The staff of the Shawano School District is highly committed to the success of our community and your child(ren). We believe in supporting a highly engaged workforce to ensure a quality experience for all students.
We know that your email or text is an important line of open communication between parents, teachers, and the administrative staff. In today's immediate communication atmosphere, we have all become accustomed to expecting an immediate response. Yet, during the school day, and during before and after school activities, when staff are working directly with students, they typically do not access their emails. Instead, staff access their emails when on their breaks or at times when they are not scheduled to be face-to-face with students.
As we strive to deliver the highest quality service to our students and families, and so that we all share the same expectations, we have set the following communication expectations:
- Staff will respond to any emails received, during their normal workday or 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Emails will be responded to within 48 hours, or if received on a weekend, as soon as possible, the next business week.
- We do not ask staff to respond to emails or other communication during their personal time, evenings, or on weekends.
- Sometimes, communication is critical. If that is the case, please contact the office by phone and we will route the issue to the most appropriate person on our staff.

New Bell Schedule at Shawano High
As students and families complete their yearly demographic information through Skyward, students will have access to their new schedule. Here's a couple notes on the new schedule:
1.) Study Halls, Hawk Time and Lunches have not been inserted into the schedule yet. This will be complete by August 29th (Back-to-School Night).
2.) You will see that we've added a period 9/10 to the schedule this year. This was to simplify the lunch block into periods 6/7/8. Lunch periods will now be split into two of these three periods.
a.) Students will either have lunch 6th period (with class being 7/8).
or
b.) Students will have a split block with class starting during period 6, they will then go to lunch period 7 and then go back to class for period 8.
c.) There are a few days on the calendar in which school lets out at 11:45. On these days students will go to their full 6/7/8 class period with no lunch split. A grab-and-go lunch will be provided on these days after the 9/10 period as students leave.
