Chief School Administrator- Eric Wyand
I'm excited and humbled to introduce myself as the new Chief School Administrator at Muckleshoot Tribal School. I served as the MTS Secondary Vice Principal and Principal in 2022 and 2023. I have truly enjoyed working with the MTS students, staff, and community.
This year, I will be sending out community communication in the form of an MTS Newsletter. The goal is to inform you of what is happening at the Muckleshoot Tribal School and to celebrate the hard work and growth of the MTS children.
I am so excited to meet you at various school events throughout the year. Thank you for the opportunity to serve Muckleshoot Tribal School.

MTS Secondary School
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year. I hope you and your family had a restful and enjoyable summer. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, September 5th. Breakfast is being served in the Cafeteria this year for Middle and High School students starting at 730.
Teachers and Staff have been preparing for the new school year this summer, and staff are excited to see students back at school. We have added some Career and Technical (CTE) course options to support High School students in their pathways to graduation. Our counselors and teachers will be working with students on this process.
As the new Secondary Principal, one of my priorities at the beginning of the year will be to get to know our students and families as we work together to ensure each student finds success at MTS. We will also be working to increase our attendance rate through engaging students in meaningful ways in the learning they are doing at school.
Further information will come throughout the year for different events and activities.

BISID & NYCP Grants
What is NYCP/BISID?
The Native Youth Community Projects (NYCP) is centered on the goal of ensuring that Indian students are prepared for college and careers by promoting partnerships in American Indian (AI) tribal communities. The NYCP allows the local community to choose a project focus based on a needs assessment or other data analysis as well as the areas the community identifies as having the biggest impact on improving outcomes for AI youth. The purpose of the Native Youth Community Project is to improve the college and career readiness of American Indian students through a community led project.
The Building Intelligences for Strong Individual Decision-making (BISID) utilizes a “Social Workers in the Schools Model” to enable the MTS to develop and provide opportunities to promote strong, positive, and healthy educational experiences for the students, as well as provide opportunities for parents/guardians to gain an understanding of their sons/daughter’s educational and wellness needs.
