Barber Bulletin
Dear Parents,
As our academic year draws to a close we have much to celebrate and many happy memories. Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding leadership of Mr. Robinson and Mrs. Gillespie. These two assistant principals will be serving in different elementary schools for the 2018-2019 school year. Mrs. Gillespie will be the assistant principal at North Springs while Mr. Robinson will be the assistant principal at Bridge Creek. These two leaders will always be welcome at Pontiac and we wish them the best of luck in their new schools. We are delighted to welcome Mr. Jessie Williams, who is currently the assistant principal at Bethel-Hanberry, to Pontiac. He has been an assistant principal for 10 years and is excited to serve in this capacity at Pontiac. We will also welcome DeAnna Savage as our assistant principal, who is currently a 5th grade teacher at our school.
I would also like to thank the many parents and community members who have volunteered your time to our school. To have strong parent and community involvement ensures we are able to meet the goals we have set forth for our school and our students! It certainly takes a village and I am so proud of the village we have here at Pontiac that supports our students!
Most importantly our students have enjoyed another fabulous year. They have learned about the 7 Habits and are proudly becoming leaders both in our school and our community. I have attended many celebration events and have listened in awe as their achievements have been described.
Over the summer vacation I will be working with colleagues to put into place a smooth opening to the new academic year and setting the priorities to build upon the successes of the school so that we can continue to improve. We should always seek to do better; to challenge ourselves and our students to set the highest standards and achieve our ambitious goals.
I would like to wish you all the very best for the summer vacation and look forward to welcoming you all back, refreshed, for what will be an exciting, new academic year.
Best regards,
Katie Barber

Living by the Mission statement
Now that you created your family mission statement, make sure it is visible and conspicuous, because it is time to live it! Some families put it in a frame and hang it in different locations in their home as a reminder. Other families repeat their family mission statement at meals to remind them of what their family stands for before they go out the door.
