PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
The beginning of the school year always brings an awakening to the building. The students and staff replace the quiet slumber of the summer with excitement, curiosity, laughter, and wonder.
There is a lot of information to absorb at the beginning of the school year. Here is the document that contains everything you need to know pertaining to arrivals and dismissals: Here We Come and There We Go.
If your child is a walker, check with them to see when they are arriving at school. We are not able to provide outside supervision prior to 8:15am.
Drop off and pick up appears to be going smoothly. As much as possible we try to make it efficient and friendly for everyone. I appreciate everyone’s patience and focus at this time. With cars and buses coming and going, along with students walking home and a busy section of High Street, it is a congested and busy time in and around our parking lot.
I took a glance at the weather for next week. It looks like we may be getting some rain. At FMS we believe there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing for the weather. Unless it is deemed to be unsafe, we get the students outside everyday. Make sure you check the weekly weather so that your student is prepared to go outside.
I want to thank everyone who has completed their Annual Update through the parent portal! We have received an overwhelming response indicating that this digital process was quick, easy and preferred over the packets of paperwork that have been sent home in the past.
If you have not completed yours yet, today is the due date to get this completed.
Here is how:
Log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal ( portal.rsu1.org)
Click More > Online Registration from the left sidebar.
Click Start.
Verify all your students are listed then click Begin Registration.
Follow the prompts and hit submit when you are finished.
Click here for detailed step by step directions.

Also new this year, our volunteer application has gone digital. As a reminder all volunteers and chaperones must complete a new application every school year. We encourage EVERYONE to complete this application process even if you are not able to commit to volunteering regularly. Throughout the year, there will be many fun and exciting opportunities to chaperone and volunteer. The approval process takes time and we don’t want you to miss out on your chance to volunteer or chaperone one of our adventures! The application process is quick and easy! Get it done today! https://www.rsu1.org/page/volunteer-information
