Mills Elementary School
October 2 - October 6
Greetings Mills Families,
October has arrived! Even though cooler temps are coming our way, learning is still sizzling on campus! Across grade levels, students are engaged in collaborative group work, responding to classroom discussions with thoughtfulness, and getting to know their peers and teachers on a deeper level.
This Wednesday, Oct 4, is National Walk, Bike, or Roll (think scooters, roller skates, etc.) Day. Mills Elementary proudly participates in this event every year. If your family does not typically walk/bike/roll to school daily, we hope you'll try it on Wednesday- the weather should be pleasant in the morning!
If you've volunteered in some capacity on campus, thank you! It does not go unnoticed. Whether it's putting a shift in the lunchroom, lending a hand in the front office, shelving books in the library, helping with landscaping outside, supporting teachers with making copies, or setting up a teacher luncheon/breakfast, we sincerely appreciate your support. Mills is the wonderful place it is due to your generosity in so many ways.
Please mark your calendars for October 11! We are hosting our first ever Family STEM Night. Students and adults will enjoy hands on learning incorporating elements of science, technology, engineering, and math. We've also invited a few community partners, so there will be a lot to do and learn about during STEM Night! This event is free and open to all Mills Mountain Lions and families, so we hope to see you there.
Lastly, we celebrate our fantastic and hardworking custodians, Ms. Margaret, Ms. Galdina, and Mr. Tino this week for Custodian Appreciation Week. They go the extra mile to ensure that our campus is ready for learning every single day. If your Mountain Lion would like to create cards or signs for the custodians, we are collecting them in the office.
Have a fantastic week!
Respectfully,
Angela Frageman
Principal
Mills Elementary School
