The Roebling Reporter
October 2022
Thank you!
Thank you to all of you that attended Back to School Night. It was a wonderful night for parents and teachers to come together for the benefit of the Roebling students. This year is going to be a fantastic year! I look forward to getting to know each one of your families better.
We Want to Hear From You
The reason Roebling has been so successful is because at Roebling everyone's ideas and opinions are valued. Teacher leadership and community connections are the foundation for our success. The many committees at Roebling help with decision making, and we always welcome parent ideas. We have been fortunate to bring in Mrs. Filippine to do yoga, the Bookmates to read with children, police officers to do Adopt a Cop, fire fighters for Fire Prevention Week, guest readers in classrooms, etc. In addition to the many ways we work with the community, I would like to get your feedback. Below is a survey that I will post each month. If you have a great idea, a concern or want to praise a staff member, please share it with us. You are always welcome to call the main office and schedule a meeting as well. I appreciate the great ideas that have been shared with me this year.
Grades 1st - 4th Reading Challenge hosted by Troy Singleton - 10/3-11/18
To participate in the challenge, you must be in grades 1-4 and you must first gain the permission of your parent or guardian. Then, simply read as many books as possible from October 3rd to November 18th ! Every time you complete a book, you must fill out the attached log with the book title and date completed. The same book that is logged multiple times will only be counted once Don’t forget to sign your log. Your parent/guardian and teacher must sign it as well. The log can also be found on my website www.troysingleton.com/reading. Forms must be turned in to your teacher by November 18th .
The winner gets.....
If you are the student that reads the most books from your school, you will receive a gift certificate for a family bowling experience for up to six people at Laurel Lanes. Should you be one of the top readers overall in your grade across the district, you will also be awarded with a special plaque.

Attendance
EARLY DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Early dismissals for individual students are sometimes necessary for a doctor, dental or daytime appointment. The process used by our office is as follows:
On the morning of the early dismissal, the student should provide a note for the teacher to be shared with the main office.
Parents/guardians must come into the Main Office in person to sign out and accompany their children. Identification will be required for early dismissal. We strongly encourage that if you need to pick up your child(ren) before our regular dismissal time that you do so no later than 2:15 p.m. This allows for a much smoother dismissal and ensures all staff are getting our students safely back to you.
Please be advised, students can only be released to adults whose names appear on the Genesis Contact List. Any adult who is picking up a student MUST present a valid photo ID. Please be sure to update Genesis contacts through the Parent Portal.
