Next up was Franklin Community. After leading nearly the entire game, the Lady Cards dropped a close road game in overtime. Edington led all scorers with 24 points on 10 of 15 from the field.
The Lady Cards came home to host their first home game against New Palestine. This one was also close but the Cards could not pull out the victory. Kyra Duncan lead the Lady Cards with 11 points.
The following week, the girls would host two Conference Indiana opponents in Columbus North and Bloomington South. Against the Bulldogs, the Lady Cards had a slow start but put up a good fight the rest of the way. Ashley Raisor lead the Lady Cards with 11 points. Against the Panthers, the girls battled hard but came up short. They lost by four with Kyra Duncan and Lexie Green leading the way with 12 points and 11 points. The Bloomington South game was a special evening as Southport honored iconic basketball coach Marilyn Ramsey.
Arsenal Tech visited the Fieldhouse to round up the pre-Thanksgiving schedule. The Lady Cards jumped out on the Titans early and continued to build on their lead. Savannah Edington led the way with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Avon arrived to finish off the month and several home games on the schedule. The Orioles were a strong team but the Lady Cards played extremely hard. A solid all around effort was put forth by the girls but they fell to Avon. On this night, members of the youth basketball teams were recognized.
Next up for the Lady Cards is Conference Indiana opponent Bloomington North on December 1st.
Swimming & Diving
Both teams were in action when Roncalli came to the Southport pool. The boys team won while the girls team lost.
Next up, the Cards made the short trip to Beech Grove. The boys came out on top.
On December 2nd, the teams will host the Cardinal Classic. Teams from all around will be on site to take part in an extremely competitive day of swimming.
Wrestling
That weekend the Varsity team headed to Arsenal Tech for the John Hurrle Invitational. The JV team headed to Yorktown.
