Westwood parents-
We are wrapping up the chocolate bar sale, so if your student has not turned in all money, please turn that into into the office ASAP. Also, if you'd like to order a Westwood yearbook, the deadline is April 12th.
It's hard to believe, but we are already planning for end of the year activities! Coach McGraw and Mrs. Gaston are partnering to help every student make a tiedye shirt to wear on field day. Coach McGraw will be selling snacks every day this week to raise money to offset the cost of the shirts and tiedye supplies. All snacks will be $1, and we will have Takis, chips, oreos, sour candy, and cheeze-its.
We are so excited for our 1st grade program this Thursday at 6:00! Parents/families are welcome to attend, and there is a new parking lot in the back of the school by Walker Ave. for additional parking. If the weather is nice, we do encourage you to walk as parking is still a challenge even with the new lot. Our Booster Club (kind of like a PTA) will have some food items available for sale.
We have another first coming up- the first Westwood family night since I became the principal (since I started the year the COVID shutdown happened). We invite you to join us on Thursday, April 21st to play bingo for books, grab some free food, and try out some STEAM (science/technology/engineering/arts/math) activities. Grades K, 1, 2, 4, and 5 are invited to start at 5:30 while our 3rd graders get ready for their program; 3rd graders can participate in family night after their program is over.
We are also excited to announce dates for kindergarten and 5th grade celebrations. Kindergarten will be Friday, May 20th at 9 am. 5th will be Wednesday, May 25th at 1 pm. Both will be held at Westwood.
There are lots of fun things going on this spring, so thanks for checking this weekly parent update. We want everyone to know what's going on in the World of Westwood Wolves!
