Student Schedules for Next Year
We are excited to let you know that our school counselors have been working hard on building student schedules for the upcoming school year. We are in the process of updating schedules and expect to share them with students this week, allowing time to check in with school counselors prior to the end of the school year in order to resolve any scheduling concerns and confirm each student’s 2022-2023 course of study. We will inform all students and parents when schedules are ready to be viewed
Civics Symposium
Last week the Social Studies Department hosted our first annual Civics Project Symposium! The state of Massachusetts has developed a state-wide civics project in which high school students, specifically juniors can participate and we are proud of our students that participated this year for the first time. “The primary purpose of a history and social science education is to prepare students to have the knowledge and skills to become thoughtful and active participants in a democratic society and a complex world,” (Mass DESE)
Students chose a topic that they were passionate about and worked to be civically engaged with the goal to create a meaningful change in the world. Part of the process included showcasing their work and the power of student agency and engagement. Congratulations to our Social Studies department and all of the students that showcased their ideas and passions to make a difference in the world!
Summer Reading 2022
Summer Reading 2022: Read, Explore, Grow
Nipmuc is pleased to release a Summer Reading List for students and families to reference when selecting books. As always, students are encouraged to choose books according to interest and independent reading level. Students are also urged to talk to their current teachers about a possible fit and visit their local libraries for further assistance and access to books throughout the summer. Happy reading, Nipmuc!
Students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses are not required to complete the reading of a book from the summer reading list.

Free Telehealth for COVID-19 Treatment with Paxlovid
Massachusetts has launched a new free telehealth program to help residents easily access COVID-19 treatment. The COVID-19 telehealth program is a quick, easy and free way for individuals to see if Paxlovid is an appropriate treatment for them. Paxlovid is a COVID-19 treatment pill taken orally that can reduce the risk for severe symptoms and hospitalization by nearly 90 percent.
This program is available to all COVID-19 positive Massachusetts residents 18 years or older who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. The telehealth visit consists of a short health intake survey and, if eligible, a video consultation with a health care clinician. During the telehealth visit, the clinician will review symptoms and risk factors, and determine if Paxlovid treatment is appropriate. If an individual is eligible for the treatment, the clinician will send a prescription to a local pharmacy or, if necessary, arrange for free overnight delivery to the resident's home. This program can be accessed at mass.gov/COVIDtelehealth and is available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese.
