Safety Reminder for Dropping of Students
For the safety of ALL students, Please DO NOT use Myrtle Drive for drop-off and/or pickup. Students should never cross a street without a crosswalk and should not walk or be dropped off in between buses. We luckily have busing for most of our students, and Myrtle Drive will only be used as a BUS ZONE for this purpose. We have added parking spots on Harrison Avenue, which is where parents can park to drop-off and/or pickup their students for the upcoming school year. Students should be dropped off any time after 7:30am and before 7:45am, when we have teacher supervision available. The building opens for students at 7:40am and 1st hour begins at 7:45am.
Changes to Trimester 3 Placement
5 Essentials Survey
Parents/guardians are encouraged to take the survey online for each of their child(ren)’s schools at https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois.
Reminder for Hybrid Students
If in-person learning is selected, students must attend in-person unless there is an extenuating circumstance, which must be discussed with your child’s school for approval. Per approval, your child will be able to participate in remote learning.
If the extenuating circumstances are not approved by your child’s school, your child runs the risk of receiving an unexcused absence and will not be able to participate remotely.
Reminder for eLearning Students
FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE
All Illinois children in 6th grade, or any new student to the district (grades 5-8), are required by the state to provide school with proof of a dental exam by May 15, 2021. Any dental exam completed between November 2019 and May 15, 2021 will fulfill the state's requirement. If a dental exam form is not received by May 15, 2021, the school may hold the child's report card until proof of a dental examination form is received or until the school receives proof (ex: appointment card) that a dental examination will take place within 60 days after May 15, 2021.

- How long have you worked for the District?I have worked in the district since this past August. I have been teaching for the past 17 years and am so excited to work in District 48. I love working here and getting to know the students, teachers and families!
- What is your favorite subject to teach? My favorite subject to teach is math. It is fun to learn how to solve a problem in a variety of ways. Math was very hard for me growing up, over the years I have learned that it is ok to struggle and that is how you learn!
- Do you have any hobbies?I love jogging, baking, spending time with my 2 boys (Asher and Rami) and reading.
- What is your favorite snack? I love all sweets! Lately, I have been eating a lot of dried mango, it is so good!
- Do you have someone you look up to?
- I would have to say my sister. She is one of the hardest working people and selfless people I know. She is a pediatrician in New York city and I wished she lived closer to me :)
