CTE Fall Advisory Council Meeting
October 3rd is the 2019-2020 Career & Technical Education (CTE) District-Wide Advisory Council meeting for Deer Valley Unified School District. We loook forward to hosting many CTE business and industry partners, stakeholders, and post-secondary representatives ast Avenue 27! Refreshments will be provided by the Avenue 27 student staff.
We look forward to forming mutually beneficial partnerships for teh remainder of teh school year and beyond.
CTE programs are a vital pipeline to the Arizona economy, providing a skilled workforce needed by employers.

*High School to Career Expo - October 29th
DVUSD will host the 2nd annual High School to Career Expo on Tuesday October 29th to promote CTE programs to 8th through 11th grade DVUSD students and families. The event be held 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at DVUSD District Office and will include:
- Expo booths for CTE programs
- Hands-on industry activities and demonstrations
- Opportunities to speak with current program students
- Internship information
- Onsite application stations
- DV Online CTE opportunities

Biomedical Science Students Earn Scholarships
Congratulations to Mountain Ridge PLTW Biomedical Sciences students Taydem Stephens and Brooke Stallman received American Society of Clinical Pathologists NEXTPO Scholarships on September 11 during the NEXTPO event.
Brooke and Taydem are also members of HOSA.

Account codes for registration were provided on your CTSO Advisor Training Folders. You must generate the requisition at your bookstore using the account codes provided to you. You will also need to submit the invoice to your bookstore for prompt payment. Contact carrie.lasharr@dvusd.org if you have any questions.

Please be sure you are working with your officer team to complete the following timeline activities:
November
- Document chapter meetings with agendas and minutes
- Submit all minutes with approved expenditures to your bookstore manager
- Submit all CTSO invoices to your bookstore manager for payment
December
- Submit field trip paperwork and board packets for Spring semester conferences and competitions
