Inclement Weather Day
Student Login
In preparation for the inclement weather practice day on January 9, please confirm that your students have logged into their HCPS devices this school year. If they haven't, then they will NOT be able to login at home and complete the quiz.
Elementary and 6th grade student passwords were reset on September 2, 2022. Students needed to login within seven (7) days from this date, or the passwords would have expired. If students have NOT logged into their HCPS device this school year, then the teacher needs to reset the passwords in Student Account Manager (SAM).

Password Criteria:
Elementary
- Passwords – 4 letter animal name (lower case) and birth month and day
Secondary
- Student Manages Own Password
- Teachers can reset the passwords in SAM
- When resetting passwords, they must:
- Include a minimum of 8 characters
- Include an upper-case letter
- Include a lower-case letter
- Include a number or special character

Step-by-step directions for the inclement weather dry run day can be found in the December 14th Canvas Newsletter.
Reminder: After the dry run, teachers should access the results to the quiz to ensure that all students were able to access the module from home.
Book Creator Trial Run
Teachers now have full access to Book Creator through the end of the school year. After July 1, Book Creator will turn back to a school-by-school purchase. More information on how to access Book Creator in Canvas will be coming in a future newsletter.
