Cracker Trail Elementary Newsletter
January 2024

From the Principal
Dear Cracker Trail Families,
Happy New Year! I hope our newsletter finds you well and that the holiday season brought joy and relaxation to you and your families. As we embark on a new year, I am excited to share some updates and important information with you.
It brings me great joy to share that Cracker Trail Elementary remains a "B" school!! This achievement is a direct reflection of the commitment, passion, and tireless efforts you and our staff have poured into our students, each other, and our school community. We are blessed to have a school community created by a group of individuals who want our students to thrive and succeed.
We scored 57% of the total points - up from 56% from the year before. We are currently 5 percentage points away from an "A." Mrs. Booker and I want to thank you, our students, and our staff for your hard work & dedication. I look forward to what we will achieve this year!!
December was a busy month at CTE and we would not have been able to do it without our fabulous staff and volunteers. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered to assist at our Holiday Shop and our other events throughout the month.
Please join us on Monday, January 22, at 2:30 PM for our SAC meeting. We will be discussing upcoming events and would love your feedback & input. CTE’s PTO will meet the same day at 3:00 PM. The meetings will be held in CTE’s MI Lab.
Thank you again for your support throughout 2023. Even through challenging times, CTE continues to be a very special place where we all strive to do our absolute best each day! Your CTE Family wishes your family a happy, healthy, and safe 2024!
Sincerely,
Mr. Rick Kogelschatz
Principal

New School App
From work, to home, to school, our phones are a key tool to navigate and communicate throughout
the day. The custom-built School Board of Highlands County app makes it easy to stay up to date
with district news and events.
Now, School Board of Highlands County is making it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class
information from that same app. Using the School Board of Highlands County app you can easily
switch from district and school information to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes
and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web and from our district app,
which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. To access
Rooms, you will need to create a login and password.
- One app for everything School Board of Highlands County
- Easily see class specific announcements
- Message teachers directly
Download the app, and look for your personalized invitation to begin using the "Rooms" feature in our app in early November.
