Adding Content
Welcome to the Smore content box!
The Add Content section of the Editor has 10 widgets that you can use to make the content of your newsletters more engaging.
🤟 Some widgets has varying layouts for you to chose from. Simply hover over the widget once inserted, and click on layout to check them out.
Check out the guide below to see what these content options are all about!
Title
Insert text that you would like to display in a larger font size than other text on your newsletter. You can also add a link to the title.
Photos
"Photos" allows you to add photos to your newsletter. You can choose between one "Big Photo" or a "Photo Gallery" which will display one, two, or three smaller images.

Video
Type or paste a video URL to embed in your newsletter. Only YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler, and Facebook are supported. This means you will need to upload your video to one of these supported websites in order to embed the video into your newsletter.

Event
You can create an event by including:
- "Name" of the event
- "When" the event starts and ends
- "Where" the event is located
- Any other relevant details about your event
If you are a Premium user, this is where you can set up the RSVP feature to monitor attendance. After you have set up the RSVP feature, you can then check the "Analytics" feature and see who has responded. For more info on RSVPs on Smore, click here:
Separator
You can add thing Separator bars to your newsletter to separate different sections.
Paragraph
"Paragraph" is the focus of most Smore newsletters. You can make your text Bold, Italicized, Underlined, or link words within the text.
Feel free to add:
- Numbers
- Or bullet points
Your text can be accompanied by an image. Once you have input your text and clicked "Done" in the bottom right corner, hover over the text box and click "Layout" to select your preferred text/image layout.

Link
First, you will need to add a text box to your newsletter. Next, add some content and highlight the word(s) you wish to hyperlink. Once you've highlighted the word(s), click on the link icon and paste the URL you want to hyperlink into the field provided. Then click "done."
Button
Here you can create a colored text "button" that takes your viewers to an outside link. You can add a description of where the button target link will lead.
The Button feature now allows you to customize how your button will look. To see the different options, simply add your button and click "done." Then hover your cursor over the button feature and you will see the different options to choose.
Form
A form is a great way to survey your newsletter recipients or get feedback. You can type or paste a Wufoo or Google Forms URL in this section.
If you'd like to insert a Google Form into your newsletter, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Google Form and go to your form
- At the top right, click the blue button that says "Send Form"
- Copy the link under "Link to share"
- Paste that link into the "Enter url box" that appears after clicking Form
- Click "Done"
*Please note: If you simply copy and paste the "View Live Form" URL into your newsletter, the Form will not embed correctly.
Attachments
Attachment allows you to add schedules, calendars, Powerpoint presentations, Google Docs, and more. Smore supports csv, doc, docx, pdf, pps, ppt, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx, and pdf files.
Please note: this feature does not support any image files (png, gif, jpeg, jpg). Please use the "Picture" button for these types of files.
Poll
Polls allow you to hear straight from your readers, increasing the interaction you have with them via your newsletter and encourages them to constantly engage.
FAQ
Q: Can I duplicate content I created?
A: You can duplicate different content you created from within the same newsletter. However, you cannot duplicate content from one newsletter to another.
