Welcome Back To Cold Spring!
Dear Families,
This will be the start of my 10th school year at Cold Spring! I can't believe how fast the time has flown. It is an honor to be the principal of such a special school and community! Each year we start together gets better and better with time. I have watched families grow and come through the doors as kindergarten students and leave as grade 5 students. I hear stories of family members who attended the school and who have fond memories. It is just a great place to be! I want to share that it is a pleasure and honor to work with your children and to watch them grow up.
In just one week from today, August 29th students in grades 1-5 will be returning to Cold Spring and another school year will begin. Then on Wednesday, August 30th our new kindergarten friends will join us!! We are so excited to start a new year together ! At this moment, the classrooms are getting organized and set up. Teachers are working hard and preparing to make your child's arrival to Cold Spring a special one! Our custodial crew did a great job getting everything painted and ready for our opening day! So now all we need is our Cold Spring Cubs to fill the hallways and classrooms!

School Hours and Morning Arrival Procedures
- The school doors open at 8:50 am each morning for students to arrive.
- Students are not to be left unattended while waiting to enter the building. Parents must accompany their child for safety reasons. If older students are walking or riding a bike to school, they should plan to arrive when the building opens.
- Students are not to play with toys, balls or run around in the bushes or in between cars that are waiting in the car line. This is a safety hazard for the children and those in the car line.
- Morning arrival for car line & Morning arrival for walkers - Alden Street Horseshoe driveway
Car line (am and pm)
Use Alden Street Driveway. Practice having your child getting in and out of the car this week before we start school.
If your child needs assistance buckling up, we would appreciate it if you could pull up out of the way or park your car so that we can keep the line moving.
Walkers
Walkers enter the building in the morning at the Alden Street door.
In the afternoon, parents pick up walking students at the library door.
Important: If you are picking up your child at the library door, that means you walked to Cold Spring. There is no parking a car on the Standish driveway or on Standish itself.
School Bus
School Bus and private school transportation vehicles use the Standish Driveway.
School bus routes will be posted in Wicked Local Plymouth
Breakfast and Lunch
This year breakfast and lunch will be free to all students. Just a reminder, students that are planning to eat breakfast in the morning should go to the cafeteria when they enter the building.
School Hours
- The building opens at 8:50 for arrival
- Students must be in their classroom at 9:05.
- (If your child is eating breakfast at Cold Spring, please keep the 9:05 classroom time in mind when dropping them off. Plan ahead so they have time to eat.)
- Dismissal is at 3:20 pm
Summer Reading
Summer Reading forms are due back to school on September 15th! I hope students did a lot of reading this summer!
