Mr. Posick's Friday email

Today marked the final day of January for the school year. We've been pretty fortunate with the weather, but February always seems to bring either a deep freeze or a blanket of snow. Thanks to you, the students have been prepared for our changing weather. I just wanted to remind you that we are outside for recess when the temperature is zero degrees or above or if the windchill is above 15 degrees below zero. We're a hardy bunch here in Merton and yes, I do go outside with the students.

Conferences are coming up in a couple of weeks, but because of 5th and 6th graders being on trimesters and 7th and 8th graders being on quarters, we have some different days and times for conferences for each grade level. Here is the schedule.

Wednesday, February 3rd

Ms. Kreuser only from 4:30-8:00.

Thursday, February 4th

All other 5th grade teachers from 4:30-8:00

Invitation only 6th grade conferences (All 6th graders have portfolio conferences at the end of the school year)

Tuesday, February 10th

5th grade teachers from 4:30-8:00

Thursday, March 3rd

7th and 8th grade arena conferences in the gym

Thursday, March 10th

7th and 8th grade invitation only conferences

Our annual Trivia Night is set for Friday, March 4th as Ironwood Golf Course. All funds raised are going toward the purchase of new playground equipment for the Intermediate School.
