Ka Malu o Kaimana Hila

Over 400 students represented their respective schools this past Saturday at the 33rd Annual Texaco Honolulu District Speech Festival at Kaimuki High School. The Speech Festival encourages students to develop their oral communication and presentation skills. Every child is a winner, and thus, each student was recognized in an awards ceremony with a custom-designed medal.

This past Saturday, Waikiki School fifth graders participated in a robotics competition at Kapalama Elementary School. Our team showed incredible persistence and took responsible risks in the robot game. We are all so proud that they were able to accomplish two missions to approving cheers of the parents in the audience! Mahalo to Coach Courtney Tawata for getting our kids prepared to compete and representing the Mindful School in such a positive manner!

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade students who participated in our first annual Kalani Complex Elementary Track invitational this past Sunday at Kaiser High School Stadium. Over 40 Waikiki School children competed in various events against neighboring schools (Liholiho, Kahala, Wilson, and Maemae). Mahalo to Coach Holaday and his contingent of staff and parent coaches who put in the time and energy to get our kids ready to excel at their optimum levels! Special thanks also goes out to School Counselor Lynn Loveman for organizing the heats and communicating the day's logistics including tent setup and snacks. Waikiki School demonstrated outstanding school spirit and showcased its incredible amount of talent found in our keiki. Parents and staff, we truly appreciate your support in making the day a successful one!

May Day for Waikiki School will be Friday, May 5, 2023. Family Performance is at 12:30pm. On Thursday, April 13, 2023 students went home with an invitation and a form to sign up to donate flowers and/or donate funds to help with the cost. *

**PLEASE NOTE, this will be an OUTDOOR event on our campus under tents. Families are encouraged to bring Towels, Blankets or Mats for seating.

NO CHAIRS WILL BE ALLOWED for this event. Parking is off-campus
