End of Semester One Reminders
The end of the semester can be a very exciting time and also a very stressful time. It is always appreciated when families connect with their children and discuss current levels of learning and what needs to be done before the end of the semester. Any parents needing Infinite Campus grade book access are encouraged to contact the high school office. Parents are also encouraged to reach out to any teachers as questions arise. We want to make sure and communicate in advance to promote a partnership established in trust and accountability and we want to avoid surprises at the end of the grading period.
Friday, January 21 (3:30 PM) - Semester one grades will be available in Infinite Campus
Monday, January 24 - Report cards mailed
Friday, February 4 - Incompletes must have a grade assigned
We wanted to note that students that are struggling do have resources available. The library is open until 4 pm after school and students are welcome to do homework there or set up an after-school time with a teacher.
If you or your student has another idea that you think would help them to find success in their class this semester, please let me know. Again we really want to see your student earn all of their credits.
Students in current activities with a failing grade "F" at the semester will be ineligible to compete until Saturday, February 5. Students with an incomplete will be ineligible until Saturday, February 5, or until they receive a passing grade.
Please contact Mr. Lutterman with questions.

Triton BPA Students Flex Skills and Earn Recognition at Regional Competition
“I think our students were excited to be able to have a ‘normal’ competition,” said Triton BPA Advisor Rebecca Goossens. “We had to compete virtually last year due to COVID, so a lot of these kids missed out on the full experience. It was really fun to see them get the full competition and conference experience and have so much success.”
Students competed individually and in teams in a variety of categories including accounting, video editing, web design, graphic design, podcast creation, computer programming, health administration, information technology, legal procedures, and small business management. The competitions required students to learn and develop numerous soft and hard skills and abilities and then demonstrate their knowledge by taking a test, creating a project, or presenting to a judge. Local industry and community leaders with real-life experience judged the contest events, and the top five from each event earned trips to the State BPA Conference and Competition to be held the second week of March against roughly 1,500 other students from schools across the state.
“Triton BPA has a long history of success, and our students this year just continued to add to our legacy,” said Goossens. “I’m really, really proud of our students, and I hope our communities realize the significance of their achievements.”

Snow Days
Any additional snow days will be eLearning Days.
- Students should log into their Infinite Campus Portal to submit their attendance.
- Academic work will be posted to Schoology (THS) or Google Classroom (TMS) by 10:00 AM.
- Teachers will also post an online meeting to answer questions from 10 AM - 12 PM.
COVID Update
On December 27, the CDC announced it is updating its guidance on isolation and quarantine to include criteria for when shortened time periods can be applied. We have received approval from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Education to apply these changes. These changes will be in effect and our Safe Learning Plan will be updated when we resume school on January 18.
Safe Learning Plan Changes
- Isolation and quarantines can end after 5 full days if you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and other symptoms have improved.
- It is important that if you are doing the new shortened quarantine to wear a well-fitting mask on days 6-10. Students who do not want to mask for days 6-10 are required to continue to isolate through day 10 and follow the previous guidance.
- Case rates on the District's Covid Dashboard will also reflect the active case rate in the last 5 days.
2022-2023 THS Course Registration
High School Parents and Families,
I would like to provide an update on the course registration timeline for 2022-2023. Students have already been granted access to the new course registration guide. They can find these on their Class of 202X Schoology group page under Resources. Or the guide is also located on our website here: https://5il.co/rj2r
The course registration process is completed entirely at school. Students will have time in advisory over the next several weeks to both review their course options and register for classes. I will also meet with students in small groups or individually to ensure they understand what classes are available to them and what is required that they take in order to stay on track for graduation. I also encourage you to review the course registration guide with your student to help them in their planning process. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you,
